What is the common shifts feature
In a roster common shifts are blocks of time that can be used to create shifts in the roster or roster template. Common shifts are shared between the roster and roster template across all parts of your organisation (e.g. sites).
Note: Common shifts are organisation wide and will be the same for all users that have access to the roster.
Why is this important
This feature is useful when generating the roster, especially if multiple shifts have the same start and end times (For example, multiple employees work from 9am-5pm).
How to create common shifts
1. Open the Roster or Roster Template
2. Click the Common shifts bar located at the bottom (this bar will follow you while scrolling the page)
3. Click the plus on the right hand side and create the shift
To use a common shift
1. Open the Roster or Roster Template
2. Click the Common shifts bar located at the bottom (this bar will follow you while scrolling the page)
3. Drag the common shift into the roster and drop in the location
4. If the user is part of multiple roles, and you have multiple roles selected in the view, the system will ask what role to create the shift in.
