Time clock - updating the time clock (dashboard) settings

What are time clocks

Time clocks are used to record shift times and breaks. Time clocks can be accessed through web enabled browsers on many devices.

Why is this important

As an organisation changes it may require additional clocking stations. This article contains relevant information regarding how to modify or adjust a time clock.

Where are the time clock settings located

1. Click Organisation

Updating the time clock groups

1. Open the time clock page by following the steps in Where are the time clock settings located

2. Click the Pencil icon under groups

3. Select the groups from the list

4. Once the time clock refreshes, it will display the new groups

 

Updating the time clock password

1. Open the time clock management page by following the steps in Where are the time clock settings located

2. Click the Reset password option under the cog at the end of a time clock row

3. Enter a new password. The password must be at least 8 characters long.

4. The following message will be displayed "The password for this time clock has been successfully updated."

5. The new password will need to be entered into the time clock if it is running

 

Updating the time clock settings

1. Open the time clock management page by following the steps in Where are the time clock settings located

2. Click the Settings option under by clicking the cog at the end of the time clocks row

3.The following screen will appear:

  • Allow clocking of shifts - you can disable clocking of shifts if you would like to use this time clock as a dashboard only
  • Allow clocking of breaks - enable or disable clocking of breaks
  • Allow PIN logins - allow staff to login using a pin code
  • Display rostered and clocked times - displays rostered times on the user icon if the user has been rostered
  • Display site names - displays the site name in the user cell
  • Display are names - displays the area name in the user cell

3. Adjust the settings and click Save

4. The updated settings will apply to the time clock on the next refresh

 

Resetting the time clock

Each time clock is authorised to work on one device only.  If you want to disable access to a time clock on a specific device, or move it to another device, you can reset the time clock to re-authorise on a different device.

3. Reset time clock by clicking the cog at the end of the row and select Reset lock.

4. Click on the cog at the end of the row and select get link to get the time clock URL.

5. Copy the link and paste in the browser on which you want to use the time clock and press Enter

6. Enter the password for the time clock (possible password, if not, delete the time clock and create a new one)

7. The time clock is now authorised to work on the new device.
