What is a bonus payment
Bonus payments are usually made to employees in addition to their base salary as part of their wages or salary. Bonus payments can easily be added to a pay run or done as an ad-hoc pay run.

How to add a bonus rate type
1. Open Payroll Guru
2. Select the company if you manage more than one
3. Click employees -> list employees
4. Select the employee
5. Click Edit next to Rates of pay and allowances
6. Scroll to the bottom and under Add new pay rate or allowance
- Select the rate type: e.g. Christmas bonus
- Enter the amount
- Add a comment if applicable
- Click Add pay rate
7. This will add the new rate type which you can use on a payslip

How to add a bonus payment to the pay slip
Once you have aded the bonus rate type, this can now be added to an employees pay slip in a pay run
1. Open the pay run
2. Select the employee
3. Add the quantity corresponding to the rate type
4. Scroll to the bottom and click Add to pay run
