App-Based Time Clock - Installation Instructions

This article relates to how to install the easyemployer app-based time clock. It is strongly recommended the below is carried out by a qualified IT technician.

  • Please ensure your environment meets the minimum system requirements as set out in App-Based Time Clock - requirements to run 
  • You will need to run the installer software with elevated privileges. Please ensure that you are able to run the installer as a local/domain Windows administrator before proceeding.

 

Step 1: Download and Install the digital personal U.are.U® 4500 Drivers.

  • For 32-bit operating systems click HERE (16mb).
  • For 64-bit operating systems click HERE (23mb).

You will need to run the installer as a Windows Administrator to complete the installation. The installation requires a restart of the computer. After a restart, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Download and install .NET 4.7.1 framework (or above).

Click HERE to navigate to the Microsoft .NET downloads page.

You will need to run the installer as a Windows Administrator to complete the installation. The installation requires a restart of the computer. After a restart, proceed to the next step.

 

Step 3: Download and Install the app-based time clock.

Click HERE to download the full installer (70mb).

 It is strongly recommended disabling all antivirus software (including Windows Defender) during the installation process. Depending on your antivirus software; part/all of the installation may be blocked, and the process will fail.

Locate the file you just downloaded, and run this file in the Windows user account you want to be able to use the time clock.

  • E.g. if your 'everyday' user of the computer is called "User 1" then you should be logged into that user account when running the installer. Do not run the installer in an administrators account if the administrator is not going to be running the application.
  • When proceeding with the installation, ensure the username (in the brackets) is the correct user e.g. "User 1" in the above example.

Once the installation process has completed, the application settings are displayed. easyemployer recommends leaving these set to their default setting.

Step 4: Run the app-based timeclock.

Once the App has been installed the App will open and request a time clock URL. 

 

This URL needs to be taken from the eaysemployer web interface. For instructions on generating a time clock URL, click HERE.

Enter the link into the filed and click 'Submit'.

 

 

The time clock will ask for the password you set earlier.

The time clock software will now load and you can use the fingerprint scanner.
