Benefits of the New Roster Interface

The new roster interface is a complete rebuild using the latest technologies. While maintaining familiar features, it offers significant improvements:

  • Live updates: Changes are instantly visible to all users with the roster open.
  • Repeating shifts: Schedule shifts to repeat across days, weeks, or months—just like a calendar application.
  • Duplicate shifts: Quickly duplicate a shift to multiple users.
  • Shift-level publishing: Publish only what you need: a single day, a specific user, a week, a fortnight, only assigned shifts, or all shifts.
  • Faster performance: Dramatically faster load times compared to the old interface.
  • Warning system: Visual alerts for users or shifts that breach set rules, including the option to block publishing if specific warnings are triggered.

Key Changes

  • Drag and drop removed: This feature is now replaced by repeat shift and duplicate shift functions.
  • Email confirmations: After roster shifts are published, users can no longer confirm their roster shifts via email (SMS confirmations remain unchanged). Users must now use the Easy Employer mobile app or website to confirm shifts.
  • Open shift changes: If your account has the open shift rule set to 'Yes,' users can no longer open shifts for a replacement via email (SMS remains unchanged). Users must use the website to open shifts for a replacement.

Does it Change for Employees?

  • These changes only affect the management interface. The employee "My Roster" has not changed.
  • A new "My Roster" for employees, with enhanced functionality, is planned for future release.

What Version Am I Running?

To check your roster version, click Open current roster under Quick Links on the home page.

  • If you see the "Choose sites for roster" dialog:

Next Steps

  1. An organisation owner must contact Easy Employer to enable the new roster interface.
  2. If you are not an organisation owner, please raise this internally with your organisation owner.
  3. The organisation owner should email support@easyemployer.com using the following template:
    Hello,
    My name is {NAME}, I work for {ORGANISATION} and I am an organisation owner.
    We would like to move to the new roster interface.
