1) Overview
Roster rules in Easy Employer allow you to set rostering rules across the whole organisation. These rules can be overridden for an individual employee.
Rules affect the automatic assigning of shifts and also the suitability ranking of staff.
An example of this is an employee who has ideal weekly shifts set to 5 will be prioritised over an employee who doesn't have this value set.
NOTE: Fortnightly roster rules will only be displayed for organisations with a fortnightly roster period.
2) Roster rules (Organisation level)
Roster rules at the Organisation level, are applied to all employees except those that have been selected for overridden rules.
- Click Organisation.
- Click Settings.
- Click Rules on the sidebar.
- Click Roster Rules to expand it.
The following is displayed: - Set the default values for all employees (except for those that have overriding values - see Employee Specific Roster Rules below).
- Hover over the help icon for a description of the rule.
- Click Edit / Save to change the value for the rule.
3) Roster Rules (User level)
Rules can be overridden for employees who require custom rules.
- Click Organisation.
- Click Users.
- Select the user (for this example"Jake Barrell" has been selected).
- Click Rules on the sidebar.
- Click Roster Rules to expand it.
- You can edit rules for the user by clicking on the Edit button next to the rule.
An example of this is an employee who can only work a maximum of 20 hours a week because of visa restrictions.
Click Edit next to the rule Maximum Weekly Hours and set this value to 20.
You can see now Inherited from is set to N/A instead of Organisation. This means that any changes to the organisation rules will not affect this employees specific rules.
Now the user will only be assigned a maximum of 20 hours automatically or will be shown as a suitability ranking of 0% if they have gone over their maximum weekly hours.
