Custom Entities | Introduction
1) Overview
Custom entities are used to provide additional information to staff members on a rostered shift. A custom entity could be but is not limited to; a service, client, vehicle or funding scheme. Custom entities are designed to provide the ability to link additional information for a user against their rostered shift (e.g., information about a client).
This provides the ability to roster shifts based on the needs (settings) of each particular custom entity, including building templates that meet recurring requirements (e.g., a client that requires โservice Xโ for 2 hours every Monday).
Custom entities can be assigned export codes for cost centre reporting; to make it possible to see the cost of wages based on a specific custom entity (e.g., a client), which can assists in the process of building a profit and loss statement to compare, for instance, costs of wages against billable amount for a client.

- Click the Client drop down.
- Select the client from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
3) View the roster grouped by custom entity type

We are using the custom entity "Clients" to show how to view the roster by custom entity type:
- Click Client in the top right hand corner (please note the name 'Client' can be customised to suit your organisational requirements).
- The Roster view displays Clients on the right hand side.
