Setting Roster Shift Preferences

This article explains how to set your roster shift preferences in Easy Employer, allowing you to indicate preferred working roles and, where applicable, preferred working locations. These preferences help your leader or employer build more suitable rosters.

Overview

Roster shift preferences allow employees to set their preferred working roles and, in some cases, their preferred working locations. These preferences influence the roster’s suitability ranker, which is visible to your leader or employer when creating the roster. This can assist in scheduling shifts that better match employee preferences.

NOTE: You should also inform your leader or employer of your roster shift preferences directly. These Easy Employer configuration settings are intended to supplement your organisation’s roster planning process.

If you cannot see roles that you should be able to set preferences for, follow your organisation’s internal process to raise the issue. These settings are controlled by your organisation.

Set roster shift preferences

  1. Click your initials in the top right corner of the navigation bar, then select Profile.

  2. Click Work Preference on the sidebar.

  3. Your configured roles will appear in the format Site → Area → Role.

  4. Click Edit next to a role to set your preference. The available options are:
    • Preferred – This is the default setting and has no impact on the roster.
    • Not Preferred – Indicates a less desirable role. The suitability ranker percentage will be lowered.
    • Opt Out – Indicates you prefer not to work this role in the listed site, area, or role. The suitability ranker percentage will be lowered.
  5. After selecting a preference, click Save.
