Creating and Managing Open Shifts

This guide explains how to create an open shift in Easy Employer through the online portal, email, or SMS. The open shift feature lets you make a shift available for others to cover, subject to your organisation’s policies and approval settings.

Open Shift

The Open Shift feature allows you to make one of your rostered shifts available for others to cover. When you open a shift, your immediate leader or employer is notified and can decide how to reassign it. This process helps manage roster flexibility and shift coverage.

NOTE: Depending on your organisation’s configuration, your request to open a shift may need to be approved by your immediate leader or employer. Check your internal policy for how open shift requests are managed.

Opening a published roster shift does not automatically mean you are no longer required to work that shift. Always refer to your organisation’s policy or consult your immediate leader or employer before assuming a shift has been reassigned.

You must have the Open Shift feature enabled by your organisation before you can use this function.
