1) Conflicting shifts

There could be cases when the system indicates there are conflicting shifts in the timesheet for an employee, but it may not be clear why. To understand the reasons these shifts have been flagged as conflicting, start by looking at the information provided by the system:

  1. Conflicting shifts are marked with a red line across the top (when unsure about the meaning of the colours in the timesheets, click the Key icon key_icn.png for more information).

  2. Hover the mouse cursor over either of the conflicting shifts to get more information about the conflicts.

  3. You can also click the shift, and then click View shift details (magnifying glass icon), to produce the View actual shift pop up window, which has detailed information about the shift, including a section titled Actual shift conflicts, that enables users to figure out the source of the conflict.

Conflicts between shifts can relate to issues with the shift's actual start / end dates and times. Check the shift duration, and also compare the rostered shift against the actual shift to determine if there are any discrepancies.
